Born on a farm in western North Dakota to parents who had never been able to complete high school themselves, Lyn has always valued education and the way it can change people's lives. She has devoted her entire professional career to education and to providing opportunities and educational services to the historically under-served. Lyn has a Bachelor's Degree in English from Minot State University and a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of North Dakota.
Beginning her twelve-year teaching career as an English teacher at the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in Dunseith, North Dakota, Lyn also worked at Minot State University as a Counselor before going to work at Fort Berthold Community College in New Town, North Dakota. Of her seven years at Fort Berthold, the final two were as President of the college.
Lyn has worked in Job Corps for approximately twenty-five years, of which ten were at the Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center where she served as the Center Director. As Vice President of Operations with MINACT, she delivered capable oversight to centers in the Atlanta, Dallas and San Francisco Regions. Most recently, Lyn provided expertise to Jackson Pierce Public Affairs as Director of Corporate Strategic Development and Innovation, while also overseeing Job Corps operations for Jackson Pierce.
Lyn brings a wealth of experience in Job Corps Operations and in ensuring quality services are provided to Job Corps students.
