New Orleans Job Corps Center

Located in New Orleans, Louisiana, the New Orleans Job Corps Center offers tuition free training to eligible students in variety of areas including carpentry, certified medical assistant, certified nursing assistant, culinary arts, electrical, and office administration.

Connie Carlson 

Center Director

​

Connie attended Eastern Washington University, completing her degree in Psychology with a minor in Art.  Post-graduation, she went on to serve marginalized communities in social services for over 25 years.  Her work history consists of working in treatment, community mental health, and education services with Job Corps.  Connie’s tenure in Job Corps consists of Counseling, Education and Career Technical Training management, Disability Coordination, Programs management, and Social Development management.

 

Connie is a creative and results-oriented leader with experience in increasing student & team engagement and improving organizational performance outcomes. With a focus on trauma informed care and student retention, Connie has also been able to ensure non-residential student retention and success in direct student placement.
