Wind River Job Corps Center 

 

Located in Riverton, Wyoming, the Wind River Job Corps Center serves 300 students in a variety of high-demand job fields including building construction technology, petroleum technician, heavy equipment mechanic and operator, carpentry, electrical, and welding. The Wind River Job Corps Center also offers training in healthcare and hospitality.

Kristen Benson

Center Director

Dr. Kristen Benson has been a teacher, administrator, author, college instructor, the Executive Director at Fremont County BOCES (Board of Cooperative Education Services), and currently the Center Director of the Wind River Job Corps. She received her bachelors of education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1995.  She then attended the University of Virginia where she received her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction in 2002 and doctorate in Education Leadership in 2008. Dr. Benson has served on many boards.  She was the chairman for the Suicide Prevention Taskforce, Fremont County Prevention Partnership, and the Northwest BOCES.  She was the clerk for Fremont County School District #6 and Secretary for the Help for Health Hospice.  Dr. Benson resides in Kinnear, WY with her husband and has three children.
