President's Weekly Message (01/29/21)

Hello API Job Corps Centers,

It is hard to believe it is almost February! The big news is that ALL API Centers have been approved for Resumption of Operations! I am so proud! All of you have worked so hard to make this happen. Please remember that, while we now have students on center, we still have many students engaged in distance learning. Let us do our best to ensure all our students are served the API/MTC way: with accountability, performance, and integrity.

This week reminded me we must be diligent in executing our daily safety attestations that must be completed prior to entering center! As I said last week, this is very, very important!! We are truly concerned about everyone’s safety. Please keep your work areas clean and sanitized. The little things really do matter.

William Patten said, “Don’t be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones take care of themselves.” Little jobs can be things like:

  • completing your timecards,

  • cleaning your area,

  • ensuring you are on time to center and to meetings,

  • attending all meetings prepared,

  • helping a co-worker,

  • being concerned with a student’s needs and following up,

  • thinking two steps ahead to ensure you will not run into a problem, and

  • yes, completing your daily attestations!

Please make this weekend and next week Job Corps great and take care of each other. You are all very much appreciated.

Thank you!

Dr. Wild
