API Graduates First Leadership Program Cohort for 2020
The API Virtual Leadership Program enabled participants to understand API’s philosophy and the mission of Job Corps, discuss critical functions of leadership, and recognize how their role impacts their Job Corps Center and the company. Each new leader gained a deeper understanding of their self, how to be a better team leader and team member and how to positively impact his or her Job Corps center. Classes took place between March – October and the topics that were covered are listed below:

June 11: Session Title: Evaluating Staff
June 25: Session Title: Dealing with Discipline and Performance
July 9: Session Title: Team Building
July 23: Session Title: Effective Communication and Feedback
August 6: Session Title: Meeting Protocols and Processes
August 20: Session Title: Purchasing
September 10: Session Title: Property
September 24: Session Title: Budget
October 8: Session Title: Lollipop Leadership (the power of influence)
October 22: Graduation: Westover JCC
October 23: Graduation: Shriver JCC
These new leaders have the power to mold their future and the future of API with Accountability, Performance and Integrity. Applications for Cohort 2 for Westover, Shriver and Wind River will be taken in February 2021 with the course beginning in March 2021.
